"When in Doubt"....

If there is any question whether an item used in surgery is disposable please send it to Decontam. and let the SP staff throw it out if it is disposable. We are throwing away too many of our non disposable instruments. Part of the Bugbee was thrown away last week. So, the Bugbee will now be kept in a tray instead of a peel pack. Please place all parts of the Bugbee back in the tray after use.

EduCat Modules

Remember all EduCat Modules must be completed by March 1, 2010. Please make sure your education is current. Print a copy of your transcript from EduCat when you are finished with the modules and place a copy in your education folder.

Education Folders, EduCat & Nursing Licenses

Please check your education folder in your mailbox to make sure all education requirements are up to date. If you are a new employee you must have a completed orientation packet in the folder. Copies of nursing licenses should not be in your education folder. You should not have a copy of your license at work, this is a Joint Commission requirement. All licenses can be accessed on the DOPL website. Please see Paula if your are a new employee and do not have an orientation packet.
